Pop Out Card

Place a piece of A4 card face up on your work surface with the long edges across the top and bottom.
Score a vertical line down the centre of the card. Score another vertical line 7.4cm from the left edge and another 7.4cm from the right edge so the card is split into four equal sections.
Mountain fold the centre line and valley fold the outer lines, crease well and unfold.
Place another piece of A4 card down on your work surface with the long edges across the top and bottom. Score a vertical line down the centre of the card, fold in half, crease well then unfold.
(If you want to cover the front of your card with patterned background paper, then do so NOW - before you proceed to the next step!)
Apply Glue or double sided tape to the left section on the back of the multi scored card up to the score line on the far left. DO NOT APPLY GLUE OR TAPE BEYOND THIS LINE. Fix the left section of the multi scored card on top of the inside scored A5 card blank ensuring the top, bottom and left edges are perfectly aligned.
Cut out the base layer of your chosen decoupage or twisted paper and mount onto mirror card, matt and layer as you wish.
Lay the card on your work surface with the multi scored card on top. Place the mounted decoupage papnel so it sits centrally on the left half of it. Move the decoupage 5mm over towards the right so it is slightly off centre.
(Think about how this would look on the front of your card, make sure you ahve enough space at the bottom or top of your card for a greeting if you want one, and make sure you have at least 1cm gap at the side of the card)
Lightly draw around the left edge of the mounted decoupage and along the top and bottom edges up to the score line.
Remove the mounted decoupage. Use a craft knife to cut line 1mm above and below the top and bottom pencil lines ensuring you cut through both layers of the card.
Cut a vertical line 3mm to the left of the vertical pencil line and connect to the the ends of the horizontal lines. Cut another vertcial line 1mm to the right of the score line to connect the right ends of the horizontal cuts and as such cutting away a rectangle aperture.
Apply Glue or double sided tape to the right section on the back of the multi scored card up to the score line on the far right. DO NOT APPLY GLUE OR TAPE BEYOND THIS LINE. Fix the right section of the multi scored card on top of the inside scored A5 card blank ensuring the top, bottom and right edges are perfectly aligned.
Close the card - the centre score line should mountain fold and form a pop-out section.
Finish your decoupage or twisted paper design.
With the card closed, place your mounted decoupage through the aperture. The aperture is slightly bigger than the right half of the mounte decoupage so position it in the centre. The decoupage should be able to slide freely through the aperture when the card is opened and closed.
Once happy ....
Apply glue or tape to the back of the right half of the mounted decoupage and fix through the aperture so it actually sticks to the card inside.
